North Bay Hydro Distribution limited (NBHDL) is pleased to support the Ontario Governments launch of the COVID-19 Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) for Residential Customers. The Government of Ontario is providing $9 million to support eligible residential customers struggling to pay their energy bills as a result of COVID-19.
North Bay Hydro Distribution Limited is welcoming staff and customers from the Espanola and Sables Spanish-Rivers areas. The first phase of the two-phase transaction, approved by the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) allows North Bay Hydro Distribution Limited (NBHDL) and New Espanola Hydro to operate as independent but affiliated utilities until 2022. North Bay Hydro is pleased to announce that the Government of Ontario has implemented a temporary 45-day emergency relief to all households, farms and small businesses who pay time-of-use (TOU) electricity rates. If you are a North Bay Hydro customer, and are eligible, all electricity consumed after 12:00 a.m. EST on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 will transition to the off-peak rate of 10.1 ¢/kWh; 24 hours a day, seven days a week. No phone call or application is necessary for this new rate structure to take effect, it will happen automatically.
