    North Bay Hydro’s Regulatory Scorecard

The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) has developed a scorecard for all local distribution companies across the Province as a tool to allow customers to gain a better sense of how well their utility is performing over a 5 year period. Utility scorecards track and show comprehensive performance information for each electricity utility in Ontario, over a range of time and for a specific year.

Notice of Rate Application – 2015 Rates

North Bay Hydro has submitted a Cost of Service Rate Application to the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) for rates effective May 1, 2015.  Distributors like North Bay Hydro typically apply for a full review of their rates every five years and rate changes for the years in between are made by applying a formula that is tied to inflation and other factors intended to promote efficiency. The OEB and various interest groups will have an opportunity to question North Bay Hydro on all aspects of the application and the process allows for a very thorough testing of the reasonability and justification of the rates proposed by North Bay Hydro.  At the end of the hearing process, the OEB will decide what, if any, change will be allowed. You have the right to information regarding this application and to be involved in the process.  You can:

  • review North Bay Hydro’s application on the OEB’s website now.
  • file a letter with your comments, which will be considered during the hearing.
  • become an active participant (called an intervenor). Apply by March 2, 2015 or the hearing will go ahead without you and you will not receive any further notice of the proceeding.
  • at the end of the process, review the OEB’s decision and its reasons on our website.
