North Bay Hydro Distribution limited (NBHDL) is pleased to support the Ontario Governments launch of the COVID-19 Energy Assistance Program for Residential Customers (CEAP) and, starting August 31, the COVID-19 Energy Assistance Program for Small Business (CEAP-SB) . The Government of Ontario is providing relief to support eligible customers struggling to pay their energy bills as a result of COVID-19.
North Bay Hydro Distribution Limited is welcoming staff and customers from the Espanola and Sables Spanish-Rivers areas. The first phase of the two-phase transaction, approved by the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) allows North Bay Hydro Distribution Limited (NBHDL) and New Espanola Hydro to operate as independent but affiliated utilities until 2022. North Bay Hydro Distribution limited (NBHDL) is pleased to support the Ontario Governments launch of the Covid-19 Energy Assistance Program for Small Businesses (CEAP-SB). Small Business qualifications state an annual usage of less than 150,000 kWh. The Government of Ontario is providing $8 million in funding, in addition to the previous $9 million that was allocated to residential customers, to support eligible small business customers struggling to pay their energy bills as a result of COVID-19.
Important Notice – On September 30, 2020, the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) and the Government of Ontario have changed the eligibility criteria to make CEAP for residential customers more easily accessible.
Customers who have already submitted an application but did not initially qualify, will be re-evaluated by North Bay Hydro using the new eligibility criteria.
There is no need to submit another application.
You are eligible for this program if you meet all of the following criteria:
** “close” means that the small business or registered charity was unable to maintain regular operations as a result of government order or health recommendations that required them to either fully close operations, limit access to their premises or limit the services provided or available to the public.
