    The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) has developed a scorecard for all local distribution companies across the Province as a tool to allow customers to gain a better sense of how well their utility is performing over a 5 year period. Espanola Regional Hydro Transition Project

Project Overview

With Phase 1 completed in October 2019 of North Bay Hydro’s (NBH) acquisition of Espanola Regional Hydro (ERH), plans have been in-place to fully amalgamate services between the two companies. Phase 2 of this initiative is to execute those plans.

Currently, Sault Ste. Marie PUC (SSM PUC) provides many services to the ERH customer base. NBH is already transitioning some back office services today but others such as Customer Service, Billing, emergency dispatch, service spots, and other services are anticipated to be transitioned for March 1, 2022.

Things that will Change

There will be some changes to some services and correspondence you will receive from Espanola Regional Hydro:

  • Customer Service team
  • Bill layouts
  • Customer Portal for e-bills and Green Button to monitor your power consumption
  • Your web site!
  • Address you mail payments to
  • Your account number
  • The bank to send your payments to (will be a transition period)

You will be sent letter explaining these changes or you can continue to look here for more information.

Things that won’t Change

Here are some things that will stay the same:

  • the Company name will remain Espanola Regional Hydro!
  • the contact phone numbers you use to call (705-869-2771) or fax (705-759-6510)
